Pu'er Tea
Pu'er is the most common type of Hei Cha (lit. "Black tea" but often referred to as "Dark tea") known in the West. What distinguishes Pu'er tea from other types of Hei Cha is its origin. All Pu'er tea comes from Yunnan Province, which affects both its natural taste from the cultivars and terroir as well as how it is produced.
All Pu'er teas are fermented. After the 1970s, most Pu'er teas undergo full fermentation. We carry rare exceptions to this rule of thumb in our shop, such as "Dark Matter".
Note that we have separated our "Raw Black Tea" (Sheng Pu'er) from the fully fermented teas, as they have very different tastes and drinking experiences.
